How to make an airport pickup sign on your phone
Arrivals halls are crowded and bright, and a handwritten sign gets lost among dozens of others. A glowing phone screen stands out — as long as it is easy to read in a few seconds from a tired traveler's distance.
What to write
- The name they'll recognize. For a friend, a nickname or a joke works. For a business pickup, use the full name exactly as on the booking.
- Keep it short. "WELCOME HOME MINA" reads in a second. A long sentence doesn't.
- Add one emoji if it fits — a heart, a plane, a flag. It helps the sign stand out among the plain ones.
Make it readable from far away
- Big, bold letters. Thin fonts disappear from a distance.
- Scroll longer names across the screen in large letters instead of shrinking them to fit.
- Bright text on a dark background: white, yellow or cyan on black reads best in a lit hall.
- Turn brightness up and stop the screen from turning off.
Doing it with LED Banner
In LED Banner, type the name, pick a look and tap Play:
- LED mode lights every dot like a real display; neon mode gives a soft glow.
- Scrolling text keeps letters large; choose a slow speed so it's easy to read.
- 40+ fonts, rainbow and gradient text, outlines, and plenty of emoji.
- Max brightness and screen always on while it plays, and it works offline — handy if the airport Wi-Fi is slow.
- Line up two or more phones side by side to make one longer sign.
Tips for the arrivals hall
- Check the flight status before you leave and again when you arrive.
- Stand where people come out, but not right in the exit path.
- Hold the phone at chest height and keep it steady — moving signs are harder to read.
- Bring a charger or power bank. Delays happen, and max brightness uses battery fast.
- Make a GIF of your sign and send it ahead so they know what to look for.
